 Alignment Prayer

 (Prayer at the bottom)

ALIGNMENT AND FAITH

8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. 1 John 5:8

Dear Beloved of the Lord,

Last night I shared a message on “Alignment and faith”. This is something I had been meditating on for a couple of weeks. I shared it again this morning at an Aglow gathering in Woodland Hills, CA. and the response was the same. The Holy Spirit came at the end of the message as we prayed a prayer of re-alignment that the Lord had given me to pray. Many came last night wanting to know if they could have a copy of the prayer and if I would put it into the “Secret Place.” I am not sure what the Lord wants to do with this message and prayer, but I sense the importance of His aligning us for the new season that we are, and have entered into. I would like to have more time to develop this, but feel it more important to get it out, while the Holy Spirit seems to be calling for it. So, less developed and a bit choppy for my liking I begin.

WHAT THINGS DO YOU NEED TO GIVE BACK TO THE LORD?

Last Sunday, as Alex Haiek was receiving the offering he shared how the Lord had prospered him in this last season and that he, like so many others, was in transition into the new place of prosperity that the Lord had for him. He shared that in this time we need to give back to the Lord things. I heard “We need to place on the altar all that concerns us, so that God can realign our lives.” I had already been mediating on alignment and faith so this really went off in me.

GOD IS IN AGREEMENT WITH HIMSELF

7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. 1 John 5:7, 8

God is one; and God is in agreement with Himself. The Holy Spirit, the word of God (the water), and the blood of the Lamb all bear witness together and agree together. So God is never out of alignment with Himself. And the work of Christ (His word and His blood) empowered by the Holy Spirit, agree on earth as one.

We are “one” but can easily be out of agreement with ourselves. We can be double minded - we can have our mind set on the flesh or our mind set on the Spirit. We can be double tongued - blessing God with our voice and then cursing man who is made in the image of God. The prayer of Paul was that we would be sanctified “wholly” and that our whole spirit, soul, and body would be preserved complete at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23; James 1:6-8; 4:8; Romans 8:5-8; James 3:9-12

MARRIAGE

Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

Marriages can come out of alignment. Two people in covenant can refuse, or fail, or mistrust, each other. One can be pursuing their own interests, the other the children’s interest. There can be a million ways that this miss-alignment can enter in, but when it does, this disagreement hinders our prayers and our success. Like a car out alignment wears down the tires, relationships out of alignment cause tension and “irregular wear”, and can shut off the Lord’s blessing. Malachi 2:13-16

FAMILY

49 “I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished! 51 Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. 52 For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. 53 Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” Luke 12:49-53

Jesus is not sharing His dream for our families, but the consequence of un-submitted family members to the baptism of fire that was coming upon Jesus and His disciples. When an individual has resisted the Spirit of God, lived in the flesh, refused to bow the knee when the Lord comes is power, there can come division because they cannot go with God (because of their alignment with their flesh), and those submitted to God must go with Him. This is not God’s best or His dream, it is our Lord warning, to watch and pray, to prepare and obey, so that when He comes we can see “wholeness and not division” Matthew 10: 21, 34-42

CHURCH

16 These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. 17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. Jude 16-19

We have all experienced church divisions. They usually begin with an offense, or strong zeal, or a strong opinion. Let’s face it, the first murder reported in the bible happened when two brothers came to bring God an offering. When offense happens, we are commanded to go to our brother in secret and humble ourselves by admitting that what they did “offended us”. If they receive what we say, we have realigned ourselves in agreement. If they do not, we are to bring a brother and share again. If they still won’t “hear us”, then we bring a Leader in the Church whose authority we both would submit to, and try again. Only after all that, is a brother to be rejected as unrepentant, and be considered to you like a heathen and tax collector.

We are never to go to those around us and say, “do you know what so and so did to me, or said?” We are not to build agreement in the sin but find forgiveness for the sin. Proverbs says “He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates friends. Proverbs 17:9.  It is no wonder, with our undisciplined tongues biting and devouring one another, that we are consuming one another. We must realign. Matthew 18:15-17; Galatians 5:15

WORK AND FAITH

Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, 6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”
7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it. Matthew 8:5-13

Here we see the model of alignment that resulted in much faith. So much so , that Jesus marveled and the Centurion received. The Centurion was a “man under authority” and recognized that Jesus too “was a man under authority.” The Centurion was even suffering under an “unworthy” attitude but didn’t need healing to receive his prayers answered.

Alignment, agreement, and authority all go together. Who are you aligned with? Who is aligned with you? Who are you in agreement with? Who is in agreement with you? Whose authority are you under? Who is under your authority? Who is watching out for you? Who are you watching out for?

submitting to one another in the fear of God. Ephesians 5:21

We are to submit to one another and to honor all authority. The spirit of man has authority over the flesh of man, and the tongue is to submit to the word of God and not the bitterness of the soul. Husbands and wives are to walk together in agreement, but when they get stuck, God will honor and deliver through submission. Radical Christianity is to work for someone who is unjust, and for conscience sake, serve them as Jesus - To be strong and bear with the infirmities of the weak, to be great by becoming the servant of all. Fear has paralyzed us, and we must start again with the prayer of agreement, with the Spirit, water (the word), and blood, as our re-alignment, first of ourselves and then one to another, takes place. 1 Peter 2:13-25; Romans 15:1; Luke 22:24-30

PRAYER OF RE-ALIGNMENT

This prayer is no way complete, but is a start to submit ourselves to God and give Him permission to align us into agreement with Himself and His will. He can not agree with us when we are in unbelief, because He cannot deny Himself. But He can give us wisdom, search our hearts, and lead us into the way of life everlasting. This is what this prayer is asking God to do. Begin with the prayer and let the Lord enlarge and lead you into His wholeness and alignment. James 1:5-8; Psalm 139:23, 24

Father, I acknowledge that all things come from your hand and I surrender back all that you have given me and all that I have created. I give back to you my sins, and the evil done against me also. I surrender everything that is in my life to you.

Father, I come under your authority and submit to all authority for conscience sake.

Roman 13:1, 2; 1 Peter 2:13-25; 4:19

Father, I desire to come into agreement with your word and truth and out of agreement with cursing and lies.

Father, forgive me for my rebellion, my fear, my divided heart and mind, my double tongue and every place of duplicity.

Father, bring me into oneness with You, and with myself, with my marriage, family, church, and with my work. Bring me into agreement with my identity, calling, and mission on earth.

Father, what the curse has divided, may Your Spirit unite, your blood purge my conscience from dead works, and your water wash my body.

Holy Spirit, make me Your witness.

In Jesus Name, Amen
