Why We Give

At Jubilee, we believe giving is an act of worship and a vital part of every believer’s life. Just as Jesus gave His life for us, we honor God with our time, talent, and treasure. Our giving is our declaration that God is the source of all our provision, and it allows us to partner with Him in the work of His Kingdom.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” — 2 Corinthians 9:7

Areas of Giving

Your financial gifts support the ministry, mission, and future of Jubilee Church. We have identified six key areas of giving:

Tithes and Offerings (General Fund)

The tithe means “tenth” and is the first 10% of our income that we return to God as an act of faith and obedience. This giving supports the general operation of the church, including staffing, services, facilities, and general operating expenses. Any undesignated gift goes into this fund.

Nations

These funds are directed toward evangelism and global outreach. Missions giving allows us to support designated national and international ministries, projects, and missionaries who are spreading the Gospel. This is how we fulfill the Great Commission and impact the world beyond our local community.

Alms (Mercy)

Alms offerings are directed toward showing mercy and caring for the poor and those in need. This was a priority of Jesus’ ministry and the early church. These funds allow us to provide aid, support community services, and care for individuals facing hardship right here in our region. We believe in being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Framing Our Future

This is a dedicated fund for those giving by faith toward the future acquisition of church property and buildings for Jubilee Church in Southern California. Your consistent giving helps us sow toward our long-term vision.

Firstfruits

A special offering that allows individuals to bless our pastors and staff above and beyond their set salaries. This is typically the first portion of a new increase, such as a bonus or raise, given as a blessing to those who serve the church.

Special Offerings and Projects

These are periodic offerings collected for specific needs, such as guest speakers, facility improvements, or one-time events that are not covered in the general budget.

Giving with Faith and Expectancy

We give to God, and we look to God to receive. While giving is an act of worship, we trust in the promise of Malachi 3:10: “‘Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’

      • Our Motivation: Let love be the motivation for your giving.

      • Our Focus: Give to God without looking for a return from the specific place you gave; look to God for your provision.

      • Our Trust: Expect to receive, but don’t limit God in how or when He will bless you.

Tax-Deductible Giving All six areas of giving explained above are tax-deductible. Your annual giving statement will reflect your total contributions.
