Today is the Feast of Trumpets. It began yesterday at sundown and begins the ten days of Awe leading to Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) on Thursday, October 2nd. Then we count five days and begin Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) on Tuesday, October 7th. This runs for eight days, ending with Simchat Torah, the end-of-year reading of the Torah (the first five books of Moses) and the new beginning of reading again.
Simchat Torah was the day Israel was invaded by Hamas two years ago, which happened on October 7th, 2023.
Pray for Israel during these Feasts. In fact, pray for America and the world. These last three biblical feasts are always significant shifts in the coming year. Even before I understood the biblical feasts, I had noticed that during the fall, the new year began to set in motion.
All feasts begin at sundown, the evening before the day of the Feast. All feasts were shadows of what our Lord Jesus Christ would fulfill Himself.
- Passover – The crucifixion
- Unleavened bread – The removal of sin and our sanctification
- First Fruits – Jesus’ Resurrection
- Feast of Weeks – Pentecost
All these have been fulfilled in our time and space.
Feast of Trumpets, some believe, is the rapture of the church (if you are reading today, it didn’t happen this year). All believe it is the call to awaken to righteousness and to sin not! To prepare for our Lord’s Coming!
Yom Kippur – Atonement, what was accomplished in heaven as Jesus brought His blood into the holiest of holies as our King of Righteousness, our Great High Priest. I believe that one day, all of the church will come into full revelation and acceptance of this truth, just as we came into the Holy Spirit baptism.
Sukkot – Feast of Tabernacles, will be our coming into our full inheritance. In fact, the prophet Zecheriah mentions that all nations will come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts. Zecheriah 14:17
Personal Applications:

Enter the Holiest the blood of Jesus – Hebrews 10:19-23. Follow these simple steps to appropriate our Lord Jesus’ High Priestly ministry, and access into the holiest.
Praise God for His faithfulness to fulfill His promise to bring His church into perfection! His glorious church without spot or wrinkle. Look up! Our redemption draws near. Jesus comes quickly!
