Jesus Christ, Jubilee Church, and the Coronavirus

Saturday March 14th, 2020
Wow! What a week! On Thursday, Governor Gavin Newsom directed everyone to follow the California Department of Public Health’s recommendation of cancelling all nonessential events with more than 250 people. In addition, smaller events could only proceed if “social distancing” could be guaranteed of 6 feet per person, while those people at a higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 should only attend gatherings of 10 people or less.

First, in prayer we have felt the Lord is in this, for His glory, to release new paradigms of His kingdom and movement of the Holy Spirit. It is biblical to obey authority unless it tells us to disobey God, and it was God who came up with quarantines as His way to stop the spread of infectious diseases, such as leprosy.

Here is what we are going to do. This Sunday, March 15th, we will set the sanctuary with the 6 feet “social spacing”, and refrain from handshakes, hugs, and the passing of buckets. We encourage everyone this Sunday who can, to join us online instead of onsite. Our services will be at the same time, as usual, at 9:00 am, and 11:00 am, with Nations Prayer at 10:20 am. After this Sunday’s services, we will suspend all onsite gatherings and meet virtually online for our Sunday and Wednesday services through March, that the Lord may be glorified through our obedience to authority, our faith in Him, and in the care and safety for our body. We are stepping boldly into a new place prepared for us.

This Sunday, we will share the resources we have been developing so that we can worship together in spirit and truth. Jesus prophesied there would be a day when places of worship would not determine our worship, but spirit and truth would. “‘But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him’” (John 4:23, NKJV). We are at this hour. I believe this will turn out for the furtherance of the gospel and that the Son of God will be glorified. We are the contagion of life, love, and the wholeness in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, bringing Jesus to wherever we find ourselves. Here is where Jesus’ followers shine; in His love, life, and victory.

Sunday, I will share more on how to step through this door and into the more. Again, if you can, please join us online instead of onsite. President Trump has declared this Sunday March 15th, as a National Day of Prayer to turn to God, through an act of faith, for protection and strength.

Perfect timing,

Steve Dittmar
