Psalm 16:5-6: “O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.”

Last Sunday, we were each given a nation of God’s choosing. Just as Joshua, the elders, and High Priest divided the inheritance by lot for the remaining 7 tribes at the Tabernacle door (see Joshua 19:51), we chose our nations by lot. Placing our hands into the offering bucket– without peeking or manipulating the outcome!–we each adopted a nation to pray for in 2019. It was a powerful, prophetic time. It was crazy prophetic because God made the choices. I can’t wait to tell you what happened this coming Sunday!

It’s a new year, and all things have been made new!  All new things originate from God. We are not in a redo, we are made new. Everything from Christ, and everything to Christ. When we practice abiding in Christ as His words abide in us, we enter into all of Christ. The Holy Spirit then comes to seal us further and further into the truth of Jesus Christ. As we believe, the Holy Spirit seals us in Jesus, whom we believe, and becomes to us the guarantee of all the promises made to us as well as the power to become all that God has promised us (Eph 1: 13,14; 2 Cor 3:18).

Dependency on God is the full return into glory, because our life is literally sustained in Christ. No longer fearful of the present, nor grieving over the past, we are present in Christ. We are hopeful toward the future, as our future is in Christ. We are being conformed into His glorious image as the firstborn from the dead. All things are His. We are in Christ and Christ is in us. We bring all of us into all of Him. . . it is here, in Him, that we worship. Here, we receive life from Christ. Inside the glory, His voice is heard, His promises are bestowed, and His inheritance is guaranteed and made known to us.

Growing up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—from whom the whole body is joined and knit together…we are growing up and growing out! All things into Christ and all things from Christ. We are learning how to abide in uninterrupted union with Christ! The whole body is joined together by what each member is supplying, yet what each member supplies comes directly from what each receives first from Christ: all of His ability, joy, power, grace, wisdom, strategy, strength, etc.

Last Sunday, God have me a nation. Today, I walked with Him, carrying that nation to Him in union and in prayer. This nation now becomes a part of His inheritance in me and my promises become a part of this nations’ inheritance in Christ. His kingdom grew within me today, with much joy.

Prayer for me isn’t a changing of things as much as a changing of me. As I abide in Christ and His words abide in me, I become what God has already spoken me to be (Rom 4:17). As I submit all of me into Christ, all of Christ can be IN me. Inside of Christ, all of me rests inside His completeness. Inside of Christ, I become all of His completeness. As He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Not striving to be or struggling to attain, but resting inside of the Beloved. Accepted, holy, without blame, loved, victorious, triumphant, glorious. The truth of Christ for me is a kingdom to explore, an inheritance to see, and oh, such beauty that I am undone over and over again.

No wonder the elders who sit before the throne have so little time to sit. They are continually seeing more of Christ. Beholding and experiencing Jesus is truly one of the richest aspects of our inheritance we could ever enjoy. Jesus stands up…we fall down. Oh such joy, such rest, such peace. Jesus, our sufficient all in all.
