Truth Known Makes Us Free.
I find myself repeatedly immersed in the Word of God by listening to portions of scriptures (recently John 13-17) and entering experiences in the Word of God. I think this is what Jesus meant by sanctification by the truth. The Word becomes fresh, and I enter the truth into freedom.
Scripture is to be received as truth. As I do, I immerse myself in the truth by meditation, and I find Jesus, Who is the truth, revealing Himself to me. Moving toward the Lord, He heals me. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to me in the Word and Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, announces all that the Father has given in the Son.
I am not limited to my ability to understand or do the Word as I enter into fellowship with the Father and the Son. I step through the veil and I see Jesus. I am in Christ, inseparable from Christ. The world wants to create distance, fear, and self-focus, but I am of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world.
Immersion into a portion of scripture through listening, meditating, and repeating back to the Lord what His word is saying has so much power. Rather than worry, I worship the glorious Father and Jesus Christ. There is no separation from the love of God in Christ Jesus. There is no self that must be, for the Lord to be my all in all. Grace abounds, faith grows, thanksgiving increases, and truth prevails.
Let’s try doing this throughout this week with the Christmas story. Listen to Matthew 1, 2, Luke 1, 2, and John 1 repeatedly. Let’s watch the story come alive as we enter the very words themselves and see Jesus!
Wednesday, December 4th, 6:00 pm: Join us for our Christmas Party—Encountering Jesus. There will be a standup fellowship, with food and love served in the Café, and then off to the Sanctuary for worship and the Christmas story as told in the bible and shown through our children. We have gifts to give, money to share, and the love of Christ to experience. Bring your friends.
