Saying Five Psalms aloud, over the last thirty days, all one hundred and fifty Psalms, I have had my praises raised. Not by decision nor my understanding, I can honestly say that my praise has increased in my heart, simply because I have read them to the Lord.

I have imbibed praise! The Spirit of life, in the words of God, have brought forth new life in praise. I have purposely not tried to read them to understand, but to read them for my heart to hear. My heart is hearing; and faith is coming, in ways I cannot attribute to, other than I am reading aloud to God for my heart to hear Psalms.

Like standing in the bright sunlight, we are not understanding, we are seeing and absorbing light. God’s word is light and life, a fountain of living water. “For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Psalm 36:9 “… for the Lamb who is the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes”. Revelation 7:17

I have seen a lot of cool stuff too. But it’s the Spirit that is giving life, as Jesus said “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profit nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63

I started Monday reading aloud Psalms 1-5, and today Psalms 6-10. I invite you to join me. You can catch up by reading ten Psalms today or go at your own pace. Read them aloud to God, allowing your heart to hear and receive. Listening with our heart and not our head is like drinking water rather than studying it. The water goes inside, and we receive the benefit, without our knowing all that is happening.

This is the year of praise, for the Lord to make it His year of ambushes against our enemies. I am so glad we have the book of Psalms to proclaim His praise.
