We are now more than halfway to Pentecost. A Pentecost like no other, that will unlock the power to be witnesses to Jesus as the Holy Spirit comes upon us. I found 1 Corinthians 16:8 while texting an encouraging word, that I heard in prayer, about a great and effectual door that had opened. “But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries” (1 Corinthians 16:8-9, NKJV).

I heard, ‘Tarry in Ephesians until Pentecost, and we will be like the disciples with Jesus after the resurrection, as he appeared to them and spoke of the things about the kingdom.’ Alone, the first chapter of Ephesians is a revelation beyond any other into the mystery of Christ and our place in Him. Paul could only write about it for half a chapter before He had to pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation. And it only expands larger and larger as we tarry in the next two chapters.

Jesus revealed Himself; and the Holy Spirit came to give the power to witness Christ. Taking time to meditate on Jesus now, with our understanding opened to comprehend the scriptures, is as a door opened. We are planning ten days of prayer, corresponding with the ten days before Pentecost, and plan to go live on Facebook with our prayers.

The limitations imposed because of COVID, are unlocking the unlimited ability of God to awaken every member of the body of Christ into Christ the head. He is preparing us for this new outpouring of the Holy Spirit as we behold Christ.

I am going to pray the scriptures in Ephesians, focusing on chapters one through four. These scriptures are specific to our relationship with Christ, as well as with one another in Christ as His church. Chapters five and six focus on Christ, our families, work, and holding our place in warfare. I go slow; reading a phrase, meditating on it, and inviting the Holy Spirit to illuminate my imagination with revelation. I then declare what He is decreeing to me, letting truth frame my thoughts and emotions.
