Abraham’s obedience brought the blessing!
Abraham obeyed God and went to offer up his son Isaac on the altar, fulling expecting to have God raise Isaac up from the ashes. His faith in obedience brought forth the blessing of the promised Seed – Jesus! And it brought forth blessing and multiplication in everything!
Jesus, in turn, offered Himself to the Father as our sacrifice, fully expecting to be raised from the dead, and His faith in obedience brought forth our eternal salvation! It brought all the blessings of Abraham to all who are in Christ!
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. It is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”, that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13, 14
In our identification with Jesus in Christ, we are given all the blessing of Abraham, multiplication of Abraham, Sonship in Christ, and every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ.
This week, in prayer and reading, see the Father give all His blessing given to Abraham, and given to Jesus, now given to us. Then, as we go out to live our faith in this life, we expect the blessing of Abraham in anything and everything we do, because of Jesus!
