Here are some reasons why.

  • Prayer is our communication with God.
  • Prayer, with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, is our transformation from God.
  • Prayer changes us into the image of Christ.
  • Prayer is our way to bring our needs to God and receive His peace to guard our hearts and mind.
  • Prayer is praise, prayer is thanksgiving, prayer is petition, supplication, and intercession.

When we pray, we humble ourselves in the sight of God. When we pray in secret God sees and rewards us openly. When we pray, we move out of anxiety into His peace that guards our hearts and minds. When we pray, we cast our burdens on the Lord. When we pray, we receive power.

Prayer involves time, a believing heart, a speaking mouth, the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God.

Time: A set time for God, a pause from our business to ask for help, enjoy His presence and remind ourselves we are not the answer.

Heart: A believing heart accepts the Word of God as truth, and an honest heart is sincere and transparent before the Lord.

Mouth: Speaking our petition and His Word, we engage our hearts in belief and honesty. Always talk to our Father personally as you would someone you can see. In Jesus’ name is the authority to withdraw the petition we desire of the Lord.

Holy Spirit: Holy Spirit is the intercessor inside of us, who knows us, God’s purposes in us, our troubles around us, and is the mountain mover and our great Comforter.

Word of God: Truth is the word of God. Truth sanctifies and brings freedom. Truth brings our thoughts and heart back to God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The word of God overcomes the evil one.

Let’s give God time, and bring our hearts, with our mouths, expecting the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to transform us into His glory. This is our daily bread.
