“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might now sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11)
Beloved,
God has proclaimed liberty over us…The acceptable year of the Lord.
Every word that God has spoken over us is a seed planted within us—every promise from God that as we come into an agreement with it, immediately has an effect on our lives. Therefore, we are to place value on God’s word to us. Since there are words over each of us, saved or unsaved, we are to hold, esteem and protect them. In Proverbs 2:1-5, we are told: “My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.”
Our valuing His word to us is like placing a militia—an armed assault around that word. We guard what we value. As spoken of in Matthew 13, our seed falls on various soils. All these happen when we take hold of the word. The enemy can come to steal them.
However, the Holy Spirit will remind us of a word that has been stolen from our lives. Holy Spirit will recall it back to us.
God has prepared a place for us in His kingdom. It’s the place we occupy. When we hold the word inside us, we are occupying our place. The enemy wants to move the word out of us and displace us.
Worship brings the voice of God. He pours out His affection and goodness on us and speaks our identity into us, as well as His plan for us. This is where we get our true identity – the one that is apart from the worldly identity.
“… May you experience God’s favor and rest in the peace that comes from the One who is, the One who was, and the One who is coming … ” Revelation 1:4
