Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude 21
Love anticipates mercy; fear anticipates punishment. Love looks for, waits expectantly for, and is ready to receive the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ into eternal life. No wonder when we sing and praise the Lord for His mercy, we gain heaven’s response. Mercy is God’s love language.
Praise is our love language. As we praise God because His mercy endures forever, we then move ourselves into eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ. When fear, accusation, and mistrust are generating the prevailing atmosphere, it is God’s wisdom for us to turn the battle from the earthly plain to God’s playing field. His mercy triumphs over judgment.
Praise elevates us into the presence of God and His salvation in Jesus Christ. Praise brings God into our battles without our having to see the conflict. We see Jesus! We praise Jesus! We keep ourselves in the love of God—looking for the mercy of Jesus Christ—unto eternal life.
It’s that simple. It’s forever settled: His mercy endures forever!
