Hope that keeps us coming
Enoch pleased God. His faith pleased God; His faith kept him coming to God. Enoch walked with God and one day the Lord took him to heaven. Enoch had a testimony that he pleased God.
Faith is the testimony, and it carries two recognizable attributes.
- Believing God is,
- Believing God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
When we believe God is, we have faith built on truth. God’s word supplies all the truth of what the Father has done in the Son of God. We simply receive what the word says and accept the truth. Here begins the journey of walking with God.
When we seek God, it begins with our own needs, ideas, and desires. Hope fuels our faith in Him to seek Him. But as time goes on, we are no longer sure of what God will do. We just know that He is the answer of what we need, and we are not willing to be separated from Him, the source of our life, light, and love.
I had a vision:
We were coming to God again and again in prayer. We were seeking God; waiting for God to move. There was no passivity, only expectancy, but of what we were not sure; it didn’t matter now. He told us to come, and we came, to seek Him and we were seeking Him, and so we were waiting. For what, not sure, it didn’t matter, God was our answer, Jesus our provision, and the Holy Spirit the power to do. Our faith was pleasing Him and either we would be caught up in heaven or heaven would come down. It didn’t matter. We were walking with God.
