For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2

We are born into sin and death, but in our new birth we are born into life and righteousness in Christ. But, even after we have been born again we can live inside of sin and death. Not because we are trying to sin, but more because we are trying not to sin. We have forgotten, or have not yet learned, that we have been made free. We have been born free, born from above, born again in Christ. We live in the new covenant of the Spirit not the Law. Moses gave us the law and Jesus gave us the Spirit. Who would you rather raise you? The law of the Spirit?

The flesh will always lead to death because it cannot redeem. No matter how noble its efforts or austere it’s behavior, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. The mind set on the things of the flesh cannot please God, nor enjoy God, because the carnal mind is in opposition with God. God’s ways are foolishness. The carnal mind cannot submit itself to God’s laws.

So, we walk in the Spirit, and there we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. We are led by the Spirit and there not under the law.  Jesus has accomplished all. He by himself purged our sins. Sin is not the issue, faith is. Unbelief is keeping us out of the promise of rest – not sin. We take the leap of faith when we set our minds on the things above, when we follow Jesus by walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh. We enter into His rest when we pass through His word as it washes us and frees us from death and condemnation. We see Christ inside glory; and inside of glory we are transformed from glory to glory. All we need to do is show up.
