I love my alone time with the Lord. Coming to the Father through Christ, to return my soul to rest, is the best. The sooner in the day I can get there the better the rest of the day is for me. The rest of the day is in His REST. I think that is why Jesus would get up so early before all his disciples to go to a solitary place and pray. Like us, He needed to recalibrate each day in His Father, in His word, in Spirit and truth.
Today, we have the same access that He enjoyed in Christ. God, our Father has adopted us as sons by Jesus Christ. This creates such an advantage for us, in that we are known in Christ and not in our own righteousness. I share my true feelings and thoughts freely with my Father, but after I acknowledge His provision of sonship in HIS SON. This has freed me in two ways:
- I no longer try to convince myself of being loved, being healed, delivered, righteous, or free. I just am in Christ.
- Knowing this truth in Christ through praise often changes all my thoughts and emotions into the truth of my identity in Christ. I start feeling like Jesus Christ feels in His resurrection and position in heaven.
The benefit is that I am no longer producing Christ; I am simply receiving Christ. My honest heart becomes my confession of who Jesus Christ is. His life is mine, His healing is mine, His righteousness mine, His joy mine, everything He has is mine, in Christ.
“And this is the testimony that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:11, 12
