Intimacy and Intercession
The Lord awakened me several days ago saying, “To prepare for Tabernacles, (The Seventh Feast, October 16th – 23rd) I want my people to cultivate intimacy with Me.” Intimacy is the essence of being known and knowing God. It comes through time spent in prayer and His Word, while we open ourselves to His Spirit and truth. As each member of His body individually comes before the Lord, the life of Christ comes alive in us.
Intercession is Jesus’ and Holy Spirit’s commitment to us every time we pray. When we come to God through Jesus, our High Priest, He intercedes over us. Jesus joins the conversation and then leads the conversation into His Word and fulfillment. When we pray and don’t know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit intercedes over us, with groanings. He too joins our prayers, searching our hearts and minds and causing all things to work together for us in our love and calling.
Sunday, September 22nd, we will celebrate our fortieth anniversary as a church. Our great High Priest, Jesus, has been merciful and faithful in all His ministry. We are excited to enter the next season of His fruitfulness and fulfillment in our calling.
Friday, October 18th – Sunday, October 20th, we will celebrate Feast of Tabernacles in a conference titled “We See Jesus.” The culmination of this Feast is the maturing of the Church into Christ’s Glory. Seeing Jesus glorified is our path to transformation. Larry Napier will join us in giving a vision to Hope and the High Priestly ministry of Jesus, as shown in Hebrews.
I am looking forward to every time we meet from here to Tabernacles. I encourage all of us to cultivate intimacy with the Lord and intercession. We have an election that we have committed to seeing His kingdom come and His will be done. Our part to agree with God is found in our intimacy and intercession. He has determined an outcome, and we agree for His kingdom to come and His will to be done, in Jesus’ name. We need not fear, only believe.
