“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

(Hebrews 10:22)

In our place of fellowship with God, the whole idea is not where you are, but where you can be.

In prayer, many of us start from the earth realm, when we should start from heavens perspective. We may spend most of our time in prayer trying to get some place, when Jesus said, “Let’s start there”. Consequently, we go backward in our thinking. We come up with laws, rules, and regulations and we try to keep them and come under more condemnation. Once we try to keep one law, we have to keep all of them. We get locked up in the concrete physical world when God wants us in the opened place to ruling and reigning with Christ in heaven—The Holy of Holies.

Covenant is the place we can always begin.

If you would like to practice where we should start in prayer, rather than where we are in the natural, we could take Hebrews 10 as an example

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:19-23

In scripture, each one of the statements is a “DOOR”. Any word, imagery or phrase in scripture is a door that we can step into and experience. The more we practice it the more we will begin to experience every word.

In any word, we will feel its substance and the spirit of it. Whether it be in songs we hear or our neighbor across the street, we will recognize things that are unseen rather than what is simply in front of us. We enter into its door.

Let’s go into the “DOOR” of Hebrews 10:19:

Let’s begin as brethren

(…having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus) The blood of Jesus is the only way any of us can come with assurance.

PRAYER

Father, I’m coming into Your presence to the Holy of Holies, with boldness, confidence and freedom because of the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus makes me accepted. And, I’m welcomed. I come through the veil of Your flesh, the door of Jesus Christ. Your death, burial and resurrection, Your ascension and intercession. You died for my sins and You were buried, according to scripture. You were raised for my justification. I am justified in You. You ascended into heaven and You sent gifts to men, the precious Holy Spirit. And now, You intercede for me. And I come through this act, this perpetual work and I step inside the Holy of Holies, where God my Father sits on the throne of grace, Where You, my Lord are my High Priest. I stand here and behold You.

Now, as we say these words… See Him. Imagine yourself here with Him. See yourself experiencing what you are saying. This is why Jesus came to save us. So we could come here and be with Him.

As you look at Father and behold what the throne of grace means, come up with at least 10 adjectives that describe God, your Father, Jesus your Lord and Holy Spirit, your Comforter. Like: You are beautiful, strong, majestic, fun to be with, kind in the way You respond, You are generous…

Now, continue to pray the rest of this scripture and “see” yourself actually experiencing what you are saying. Come up to where He is. He is waiting for you to enter the door.
