The Son of Man entered the garden sorrowfully and deeply distressed. His soul was exceedingly sorrowful even to death. He asked Peter, James and John to stay and watch with Him. We know the story, after three hours of prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him out of death, He was heard because of Godly fear. He arose submitted to the Father in death, knowing the Father would raise Him from the dead.

The disciples had slept through Jesus’ prayers. Jesus stood before the soldiers, Judas, His betrayer, and His panicked disciples and said, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take up the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions [60,000] angels? how then could the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must happen thus?” Matthew 26:52-54

Jesus held His place in the scriptures, while His disciples forsook Him and fled, after He spoke these last words, “But all this was done that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Matthew 26:56

The scriptures must be fulfilled.

This is the call of the watchman, agreeing with God in His scriptures, not being moved by what is seen, but hearing and seeing under Him who is speaking.

Tonight, we will take a huge step into agreement with God as we launch the “Watchman School.”

September 7th, 6:00 pm till 7:30 pm.

Tomorrow, we begin our second time reading through the New Testament. Beginning in Matthew and Romans, we will read two chapters daily, finishing at the end of the year.
