Being blessed with believing Abraham

I tithe that I may be blessed with believing Abraham. Not the law of tithing but the faith of Abraham when he met Melchizedek after he had destroyed the four kingdoms that had taken his nephew Lot captive. He came back with a vast spoil and before the King of Sodom met him, Abraham met Melchizedek king of Salem, the priest of the God Most High.

And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all. Genesis 14:19, 20

After this, Abram did meet the king of Sodom and was offered to keep everything for himself. Still, he refused saying, “I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich’”. Genesis 14:22, 23

Abram believed God and he was blessed. So, he gave the God Most High a tithe of all. The revelation of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth, Who had delivered Abram’s enemies into His hand, activated His faith in God and that’s why he tithed.

This is why I tithe, to be blessed with believing Abraham. I am blessed.

Galatians 3:3-9, Genesis 14, Hebrews 7
