Sanctification – Holy Spirit and Belief in the Truth
1 Corinthians 1:30, 31; 2 Thessalonians 2:13
When we receive Jesus and what He has accomplished for us, we receive Him as wisdom from God—and righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.
Sanctification is a fact, accomplished, and complete in Christ. However, it is discovered, employed, enjoyed, and made ours through the Holy Spirit and believing in the truth. This has to be the most active part of our becoming, because it involves our interaction with the Holy Spirit and our believing the truth.
Jesus said we would be sanctified by the Father’s truth. The Father’s word is truth. John 17:17
So the Holy Spirit and the Bible become this glorious washing and renewing agent. That is why when we pray, we enter Holy Spirit and the Word. Scripture takes us into our separation to God, as does the Holy Spirit. As we learn to move back and forth and in and out of Holy Spirit and the Word of God we discover our sanctification in Christ.
Take a scripture you are currently learning, wanting to receive and obtain it truth. Spend time with the Holy Spirit and the scripture. Meditation is really just that, you, the bible, and the author of the bible-the Holy
Spirit.
Let the word become real, alive with substance and sound as the Holy Spirit reads aloud expanding, enlarging, pointing out what He would have you see.
Ask yourself what is the Holy Spirit saying to me in this verse? What is He showing me? Where is Jesus?
Enjoy,
Steve
