Imagine two billion believers occupying planet earth today. Each one a follower of Christ, with some stronger in their faith than others. Christ is the head of this body; not only of the two billion believers currently residing on earth, but also of those in heaven. Now imagine this body is the fullness of Him who fulfills all in all. Every member is joined vitally and uniquely to the head [Christ] “from whom [Christ] the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (Ephesians 4:16, NKJV).
Included in the body of Christ are a lot of people, ideas, traditions, worship expressions, and a whole lot of diversity. The glory of God, is the love of God in manifestation. Jesus came as a man, left the glory and love He had shared with the Father from before the foundation of the world, and became a man. He found His Father’s love and glory, by faith, through His practice of abiding. Today He is seated at the right hand of God and has given us this same love and glory to abide in Him; offering nothing less than all He is.
Imagine that our place was prepared for us in Christ before the foundation of the world. “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory” Ephesians (1:11-12, NKJV).
Our trust in Christ brings praise to His glory. Not striving, nor fear; not works, nor any effort of self; only trust in Christ. It’s simple but profound. Today each of us are where Christ has placed us. So, rather than trying to get out of where we are, let’s invite Christ into where we are (Revelation 3:20). Praise locates us within Christ, within His glory, and within His love. All we have to do is hold fast to the head [Christ] and He will do the rest; then we can be free to love.
