“Then the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, ‘Jacob.’ And I said, ‘Here I am.’ and He said, ‘Lift your eyes now and see…’” (Genesis31:11-12)
Dear Beloved,
In Genesis 29-31, we read about Jacob while in Laban’s house. Jacob was
stuck in the house of Laban and wanted to move out of that captivity.
Jacob had a dream from God that God would transfer the wealth of Laban
into Jacob’s hand. In the dream, he was to ask for the “speckled and
spotted” animals in the flock.
When Laban asked Jacob to tell him what he would work for to keep him
there. He answered, “Just give me whichever animals have different
colored fur for my wages, and you keep the others.” Laban was excited,
as he thought that this would be a very small portion of his wealth.
Over several years, all the flock began to be spotted and speckled.
By this, the Lord is saying to each of us, that whatever place of
captivity we are in right now, where we don’t really have a way out,
where we’re stuck in what seems to be a no-win situation…That God is
going to give us divine imagery—a divine strategy that is specifically
for each of us. Remember, this will come from God and be released from
deep within our spirit.
There is a great grace right now coming to the deep place within our
hearts. Grace to hear and to stay on task with what He’s showing us to
do. Grace for us to discover His strategy and vision about where we are
held captive and then to be ready for the “new” to come—the impossible
for us!
Lord, that You would show us dreams and give us ideas, that may seem impossible, yet You would give us faith for it. That we would have confidence and the ability to sustain that vision. Pour out your Spirit on us and grant us faith, vision and hope for this moment. Shift us into our future. Now, Lord, now, Lord.
