The pandemic panic was stopped through the intimacy of one man.

One person was sick, and the whole world was sick.

Later, one person was healed, and the whole world was healed!

The one person was Jesus. But even before Jesus, entire nations were saved through one person’s faith. Israel’s focus was on the dreaded champion named Goliath. He stood ten feet tall, had over two hundred pounds of armor, and carried a sword, javelin, and a twenty-foot spear spouting an eighteen-pound spearhead. He defied the armies of Israel, causing King Saul, along with all of Israel, to fall into dismay. Courage drained, and their fears grew, as morning and night, day after day, Goliath’s imposing stature and threats were seen and heard. For forty days Goliath showed up in the morning and afternoon, making the same challenge. Then came the shepherd boy.

David was a man of intimacy and worship, who had seen the power of the Lord through the salvation of his sheep from the lions and bears. It was David who would face Goliath. With five smooth stones in his shepherd’s bag, a sling, and a staff, he ran toward Goliath. Having prophesied to the beast that he would take off his head and feed the carcasses of the army of the Philistines to the birds of the air, he ran toward Goliath. His worship, his words, and his faith in the name of the Lord propelled him. They also propelled the rock he slung! It sank deep into the forehead of Goliath, and the beast fell down dead! David took Goliath’s sword and hacked off his head, raising it for all to see. The sight caused the Philistines to run in panic, but Israel pursued in strength and courage. One man’s faith allowed all to believe.

Similarly, a woman during Jesus’ ministry had suffered from an issue of blood for fourteen years. It could have been any issue, but hers was blood. The physicians couldn’t help, and had only made matters worse. Then she heard about Jesus and said, “I will go and touch Him, and be healed.” So off she went and found Him amongst a crowd of people passing by. Her faith didn’t hesitate. Instead, she pushed through the crowd, pressing through the disciples who were guarding Jesus. She reached and almost fell back. But like football player driving through a line of defense to reach a goal, she pushed through, and touched the hem of His garment. Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up and she was healed! Jesus turned and shouted, “Who touched My clothes?” Jesus had felt power go out of Him. He didn’t know who had touched Him, but He knew faith had pulled the power out of Him. The woman came and told all she had done, and Jesus said, “‘Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction’” (Mark 5:34, NKJV). But Jesus wasn’t the only one she told. Soon, upon hearing of her faith, others came into that same faith, and again, one person’s healing became everyone’s healing. “And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all” (Luke 6:19, NKJV).

Today is Purim! One man sought to destroy all the Jews (Haman), but one woman’s faith saved all the Jews (Esther). Her intimacy in hearing, seeing, and doing from a place of abiding faith, overwhelmed the plot of Haman. He died, while the Jews were saved, and grew in number and esteem. One person’s intimacy will overcome panic, take off the head of the Coronavirus, deal with any issue, and turn the heart of a king to give authority and to make a new decree.

It’s time to pray and enter into intimacy, allowing the Holy Spirit to empower us, in Christ, with His words and our testimony. Prophesy the outcome you are expecting. Do not repeat the fear, but instead find the faith of God. Then worship and declare what He is decreeing over you.
