“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

(John 14:13-14)

“I will not leave you orphans; …. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.”

(John 14:18, 20)

Whenever you pray, do not pray without seeing God in the room with you, or you in the room with Him.

Face to face is what has been given us to enjoy and employ. When we pray without the awareness of God’s presence here, with the faith and trust that He is here right now, we begin drawing back in unbelief.

Drawing back in unbelief is praying from the outside, outer court, unaware that that we first must come in, to have a conversation.

When we pray from the outside, we approach God with a subtle mistrust that can soon become accusation. He is to us far off, unapproachable, and untouched with the feeling of our infirmities.

Because we see Him afar off we surmise He is indifferent, that He can allow us to suffer without it affecting Him. Our prayers become centered on trying to convince Him to become involved. When
the truth is, He is already involved, touched, and working beyond our wildest dreams.

Shifting from an outside mindset to praying from the inside is easier than you may think. We know that through the blood of Christ and His death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and intercession, we are to come boldly to the Throne of Grace in the holiest of holies. Our Father waits for us there, Jesus our High Priest joins us, and we are all in the same room together. See this truth and you will enter in.

Other times we become aware of the presence of God in our room. He has entered our reality, invading time and space with eternity. Our conversation is face to face.

When you find yourself drifting away, seeing or feeling God afar off—stop. Rejoin the conversation from the place of intimacy. See yourself in the same room. Start over, right where you left off, but with an assurance of His proximity and acceptance.

Thank God, this is not a long distance relationship.
