Giving and praying are faith movements toward God. We all want to see a move of God just as He longs for a move of man. Man moves toward god by faith. And, he believes that He is and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Faith believes He is and that He rewards. We move toward God in prayer and giving, expecting that He is receiving our prayers and our giving, and that He is rewarding our prayers and our giving.
Giving Tuesday is a great day to shift from deals to sowing. Sow intentionally through the wonderful Internet into places your heart loves. Give to places that carry your heart. Give where you long to see change. Give where the need is great.
Here at Jubilee, we are always giving. In fact, to date we have given away over 40% of all monies that have come in this year. We have sown into Nations and the poor, into prayer and our congregation, and into many other congregations. In fact, we have given so much that we are $50,000 over, in expenditures this year, then what we have received. You can help us finish well, completing all our assignments, with your giving.
When we began 34 years ago, I prayed that the Lord would give us the grace of the Macedonian church (2 Corinthians 8), and He has. This grace is simple: First we give ourselves to God, then we give ourselves as the Lord wills. This is the grace of giving: First to the Lord and then from the Lord. With faith, expecting that I am making a difference and I am being led to be a blessing. God is making a difference and I will receive a blessing.
Have fun today, give cheerfully, extravagantly, and creatively. Give online and where you are. Smile, speak gracious words, share hope, show love, and do acts of kindness.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9
