Because although they knew God, they did not Glorify Him as God, nor were they thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Romans 1:21

Any week can be stressful, but Thanksgiving week even more so. With family, travel, food preparations, cleaning, work and school assignments, it can become quite overwhelming. But there is a solution, praise and thanksgiving – not the turkey dinner – God. Glorifying God as God, and being thankful, keeps our thoughts clear and our hearts filled with light.

In fact, you can correct your course simply by stopping and glorifying God as God in any situation and becoming thankful. When we do this, we realign our souls to yielded trust and our thoughts and hearts fill with light and His love. Fear fades as love invades and we find peace. Nothing may change on the outside, but everything has now changed on the inside…and inside is where we live.

God is God and is a very present help in time of need. Glorifying God as God in the moment, throughout the moments, and throughout the day awakens faith, hope and love. Becoming thankful, even in situations that are not something we are thankful for, can change the outcome from resentment and dread to joy and expectation. Why? Because we enter into God – He is always in glory and thanksgiving – He is big and powerful and full of grace.

Glorify God as God and be thankful, right now in everything, and see what happens this Thanksgiving.
