The Lord opposes us so that we find Him.
Paul was a Pharisee of Pharisees, blameless regarding the law, fervent in His belief even to the persecution of the church. But when Jesus opposed Paul on his way to Damascus, Paul stopped, humbled himself, and asked, “Who are You Lord?
The light of the glory had blinded his eyes, and the Voice speaking out of the glory penetrated His arrogant heart:
“Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
“Who are you, Lord?” Paul asked with his face to the ground.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”
– Acts 9:5, 4
I too need to meet the Lord in His glory. I am asking the Father to reveal, with His voice, Jesus my Lord in His glory, and to oppose any way I may be operating in religious zeal. Father has provided everything in Christ. I know that I am in Christ and that all the Father’s dealings with me are in Christ. I know Christ is my salvation, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. I know, but I don’t fully know.
In the first chapter of Revelation, the glorified Jesus appeared to John the Beloved on the Island of Patmos. Upon hearing and seeing the Lord, John fell at His feet as a dead man. Oh, to be undone in the glory of the Lord, again.
