And the angel answered and said to him (Zacharias), “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold you will be mute and not able to speak until the day the things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time. Luke 1:19, 20

Fulfilled in their own time! God’s words are His words sent with a purpose to accomplish what He pleases and prosper in the thing for which He sent it.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

God’s word has a mission. God’ word has a purpose. God’s word has a set time. “Fulfilled in their own time” literally means, “Made replete, crammed to the full, into it’s own Kairos – appointed time.” Even when we have grown old and life’s experiences tell us differently, God word continues on into fulfillment.

He (Abraham) did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. Romans 4:20, 21

We have entered into a season of God’s word being fulfilled in its own time. Faith will be rewarded, and unbelief will be silenced. Not because God needs us to be quiet for Him to accomplish His word, but we need to be quiet to know He is God and able to perform His word. After we have become still and know He is God we will prophesy again in faith.

God’s promises are eternal; they are powerful; they never die.
