We can not fail when we agree with the intercession of Jesus.

Jesus’ intercession over us, written in Hebrews 7:25 and Romans 8:34, declares that His salvation and glory are brought forth for us through His intercession over us. Furthermore, Holy Spirit’s intercession over us, written in Romans 8:26, declares that He helps us in our weakness when we don’t know what to pray for as we ought with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Intercession is to chance upon, intercept, intervene, to bring a changed direction from what is to what it is to be. Like a “football” that is traveling the wrong direction in a game causing one team to advance and the other to be pushed back. If that football is intercepted the direction changes and the opponent is pushed back, and the other team now advances.

Jesus’ intercession does just that. Bringing us out of defeat into His victory. He ever lives to intercede over us as we come to God through Him. His intercession brings us out of death into life, condemnation into glory, out of misery into His victory, out of despair into His joyful celebration. Jesus’ intercession brings us into salvation to the uttermost!

Jesus is interceding over us, the Holy Spirit is interceding over us, and now it’s our turn to agree with God. His kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven, is perfect intercession, because it is truth, it has been accomplished, and is to be made known.

We agree with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, for the Kingdom of God and His will be done first over our lives, then our family, then His church, and our cities, states, and nations. Evil plans will be intercepted, works of darkness overwhelmed, and joy will break forth in His body.

“Your Kingdom come, and Your Will be done!” This is what Resurrection Sunday is all about!
