For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” (Matthew 9:21-22)

The Women with the issue of blood had faith that if she would just touch the hem of Jesus’ garment she would be healed from an issue she suffered with for fourteen years. She got the courage to press through the day Jesus passed where she was on His way to Jairus’ house. Jairus was a leader and had come with a desperate cry for his daughter who was at the point of death when Jesus left to go to his house. This was a big moment and the disciples were moving with Jesus through the crowd helping him continue walking with Jairus, for his daughters healing.

Then comes the women pressing through the crowd and touches Jesus. Jesus stops. Unknown to his natural man, He becomes aware that virtue (life}, came out of Him. Jesus turns and asked, “Who touched Me?”

Everyone touched Him. Peter and the other disciples were trying to keep Him free but it was a big crowed. Jesus knew that someone pulled “something” out of Him.

The women knelt before Him and told her whole story of what she had experienced for 14 years. Jairus impatiently waited, while Jesus stopped His journey to heal Jairus’ daughter, while the women continued with her story. During this delay, Jairus’ daughter died. The people that were at his house came and told him that there was no need for Jesus to come anymore because his daughter was dead. One got a miracle and the other lost a miracle.

Jesus then focused on Jairus and said, “Don’t be afraid, only believe”. Jesus then shut the entire parade of people down. Takes His disciples and Jairus and proceeded to the house. From this point, word got out that touching Jesus’ hem in faith would bring miracles.

We don’t know who the “Jairus’” are in our lives; or who the woman is with the issue of blood. We don’t know when the moment is that Jesus will take us by the hand and say, “Come, let’s head to your breakthrough”. Or, someone would break through the crowd and take hold of His garment. Any of these could be any one of us today.

We press into Jesus in faith that is virtue (life) is in us… and our unique breakthrough is in Him.
