Today is Election Day and our vote matters. After our votes are counted, Christ will continue as sovereign Lord and King. His kingdom has no end, and He is never up for reelection. When we vote, we choose someone to be our voice and to represent us. In the kingdom, Jesus speaks, we declare what He says, and we represent Him.

What we see and hear of Jesus, through prayer, the word of God, worship, and especially in our quiet and alone times, is our testimony of Jesus. These truths, heard and spoken, bring His kingdom forward through us, and are our means of overcoming.

But how do we hear His voice? By placing ourselves in His proximity, approaching Him in faith, and knowing that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We expect to hear. We do hear. The Bible verses we have marked are His voice speaking to us. The songs of worship, when we sing and feel His presence, are His songs to us. The dreams and visions, impressions, and fruits of the Spirit, are all His voice to us. The Holy Spirit is our reminder, our teacher, our guide, and the One who announces all things that have been given us in Christ.

In David’s Tabernacle, he appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, to commemorate, to thank, and to praise the Lord God of Israel (1 Chronicles 16:4)

Commemorate means, “To mark (so as to be recognized); i.e.to remember and make mention.”  Expansive kingdom thanksgiving and praise need remembrance. Recording the workings of God in our lives, the words of God to us, and the very experience of salvation, baptism, healing, and deliverance, are the foundation of thanksgiving and praise. Giving voice to what we have seen and heard opens us to see and hear. What God speaks, He intends to fulfill. He desires our voice to declare the decrees He says to us. He wants our testimony to release the spirit of prophecy.

While the votes are being counted, let’s declare the glorious kingdom of God reigning in America! His righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit! Let us prophesy peace in our nation, healing to our land, love toward our fellow man, and the third great awakening beginning now. Let’s declare that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
