When we discover the Lord in His truth, inside His word and return in meditation and worship to this place, over time His truth carries us into eternal union. For years I would discover the Lord in His word, journal my discovery, and then go on to the next discovery. Yes, I would teach on it for sure, but that too was like finding gold in California and then handing it over to someone else to develop. So many wonderful truths passed through my hands because I did not return, camp, live, learn, enjoy, worship, look again, discover more, return again and find more at the place where I first discovered the Lord.

The Word is so full of life that it cannot be received in one or two or even in a few times of joy and meditation. It is an inheritance that is vast, beautiful, and limitless in truth.

Today, when the Lord brings my attention to His word, whether a scripture or truth found in multiple scriptures, I know it is so that I will return and experience this truth fully.

I am so excited as He shows me His word, not because of what I am seeing, but what I am yet to see. The gold I discover is like loose gold on the ground, but there is gold in them hills! Unlimited life, that for the most part has yet to be found. Geologist say there is more gold in California than has been taken out. And, the Holy Spirit will confirm there is more gold in the word than has yet been found.

So, here’s how I do it: First, I stay inside truth and discovery, until it has become fully mine. Like an old California miner knew, once gold is discovered, you better stake a claim, otherwise what you found could be taken from you.

After I find the sense of what it is that the Lord is showing me, I prepare to enjoy the discovery. There is no hurry in the kingdom. I now know that the wealth will come as I diligently return and worship the Lord with what I have discovered, anticipating more in the discovery.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

Inside of the scripture is a discovery of knowing God. Worshiping God with His word is ascribing to God the truth of who He is. Discovering the truth of who He is, makes us free.

Don’t be surprised if you begin to memorize portions of scriptures without trying to. This is just at the old miners, of California’s gold rush, would become familiar with every inch of their claim, just as if they were mining every inch of their mine.

They had dug the tunnel, they knew the story of their discovery. They could tell you the mountain’s story, where the rock was hard, where it was soft and gave way, easily to their shovel, and at which turn gold had been found. They overcame by the word of their testimony.

The word (logos) of our testimony is the sum total of all the things we have seen and heard of Him. The treasures we find in His word, and through time, we buy the field. It is the place where we become known in. We are known upon this place, through the repeated coming to the Lord in His revealed truth.

Over time, the truth of which we meditate and worship God, becomes our a place of being known. The mirror we see through, dimly opens to face-to-face relationship and the knowing in part will be how we are known. For we will know just as we are known.

If you need help starting, please review last week’s blog (click here) on how to begin.

For now, we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 1 Corinthians 13:12
