In Ephesians 1:1-14, Paul shares the revelation of the Father’s blessings in Christ that has been kept for us from before time in God, and now are revealed in Christ. Spiritual blessings in heavenly places, standing in the Father’s love, holy and without blame, we are accepted in the Beloved, predestined to adoption as sons, redeemed through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. All of this is originating from our Father’s good pleasure and will by His grace. The mystery of His will is that in the fullness of times, all things will be gathered into one in Christ, everything that concerns us in heaven and on earth. We have an eternal inheritance in Christ, and this trust we have in Christ is to the praise of our Father’s glory.

Now in Ephesians 1:15-23, Paul prays:

That the God of our Lord Jesus, the Father of glory would give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Himself.

That the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened to behold

  1. What is the hope of His calling
  2. What are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints
  3. What is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe.

If we read slowing with our heart’s imagination and pray along with Paul’s prayer, the Holy Spirit brings us into experiencing these truths in our hearts. In Christ, we have riches that have yet to be discovered – salvation to the uttermost. When we hear the whisper of the Spirit, we pause, look and listen; soon we are carried further into truth, further up into Christ. There is no limitation, and no man has yet to reach His fullness. Let’s be the first to receive all that God, our Father has done and given to us in Christ.
