But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:23 24
No doubt you have heard these words of Jesus before; His reply to the Samaritan women’s argument about where to worship, in Jerusalem or Shechem? After Jesus had said these things; The woman said to Him, “I know that the Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ), When He comes, He will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.” John 4:25, 26
Every time we enter into worship in spirit and truth we will meet Christ. Even when we begin with traditions and arguments. Soon, the Holy Spirit and the truth of Jesus Christ will be unveiled. But what if we just worship with the truth of God’s word as our words of truth? Would the Spirit bear witness? Would our spirit bear witness? Would God our Father come and find us in the worship He seeks? Yes, Yes, Yes.
Truth is internalized and entered into through worship. Like meditation of truth of the scripture opens our understanding to see the scriptures and to see Jesus Christ, our provision in all scriptures, so worship brings an active engagement with Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
I use the Psalms as my hymnal, and the scriptures I am meditating, and my proclamations of truth. I read the bible to the Father and proclaim the truth in the scripture. I bless the name of the Lord for giving me such wisdom, life, light, and salvation in Jesus. I have found that the Father comes, the Holy Spirit moves, and Jesus says, “I who speak to you, am He.”
